Landscape Pink is from the Tall and Tough range of kangaroo paws, and grows well in a range of soil types and areas. It blooms generously from spring to summer, are attractive to nectar eating birds and insects, and make great cut flowers. It has soft pink coloured blooms. A once a year tidy up after the flowers die down make these easy care plants, simply cut the old flower and associated leaf sheath down close to the ground. This signals the underground rhizome to send up fresh new leaf shoots. The Tall and Tough paws have been bred and selected to do well in humid areas as well as in wetter conditions, and will also handle heavier soils.
The plant does well in sun to part shade, lower light levels will slightly lessen the number of flowers. Fertilise before and while flowering, not phosphorous sensitive so most fertilisers are suitable, and water in dry times as drought can lead to smaller blooms. Tolerant of light frost. If heavier frost burns the foliage, wait till all danger of frost has past and cut back hard to the ground, as kangaroo paws grow from underground rhizomes, they will resprout with fresh new growth.
