This hardy native fern has attractive evergreen foliage, producing dark green lacy fronds which cascade out from the base of the plant which make it great as a feature or mass planting. Native to the East Coast where it grows mainly as an understory plant in eucalyptus forests and rainforests. It grows commonly in poor soils in the wild, forming a rhizomatous clump which spreads underground creating dense banks where it is well established. An excellent garden or landscape plant as it is very easy to grow and low maintenance, responds well to pruning and thrives in a wide range of soil types including clay and poor soils.
