An attractive strappy leaf perennial, it grows from an underground rhizome, making it a hardy and easy care plant. Flowering from spring through summer with purple-blue flowers held up above the foliage. The flowers only last a day but a well grown plant will produce good numbers over the season, making them worthwhile for landscaping and garden use. There are white cultivars available as well as the purple-blue. The Noongar name for this plant is komma.
