A very attractive small shrub that is perfect for rockeries and smaller gardens, whether mass planted for dramatic effect, in small groups or in containers on the patio, veranda or deck. It has a dense and compact growth habit to around a metre wide and tall. It can be pruned to smaller sizes, which also improves the density of the plant. Lovely golden flower colour. Frost tolerant, suits mildly acidic to alkaline well drained soils. Banksias are phosphorus sensitive, so a good native fertiliser is best when it comes to feeding time.
