One of the largest of banksias, the River Banksia grows to a large shrub or handsome tree, with yellow or seldom red flowers. It is fast growing and adaptable in cultivation, tolerant of frosts and dry periods. Banksias are phosphorus sensitive, so a good native fertiliser is best when it comes to feeding time.
Great for the large garden, and ideal for public parks, gardens and as a street tree. The timber is also used for wood working.
