The Desert lime is a thorny large shrub to small tree, from 3 metres to 7 metres tall. It is a useful bush food plant with strongly flavoured fruit. It comes from inland areas, and naturally grows on clay soils. It is a tough plant, but doesn’t like too much humidity or wet feet. The numerous thorns and suckering habit may limit the growth of the desert lime in garden situations.
