This shrub comes from the Stirling Ranges in Western Australia, and has eye catching pendulous red and white bell flowers in spring. It naturally grows in peaty soils, and needs some protection from the harsh hot sun. Dislikes humidity, and likes a well drained soil. Difficult to maintain in the garden, however grafted specimens will perform better. If feeding is needed, only use a low phosphorous native fertiliser.
