This is a small shrubby plant, with compact oval flowers, smaller than most banksia flowers. It has spine-like leaves, giving the plant a delicate appearance. Not often seen in cultivation, it would make an interesting addition to the garden. It can be used as a low windbreak.
Should grow well in a very well drained soil, sandy, with part to full sun.
It is a relatively fast growing banksia, prune often to keep a compact shape. Banksias are phosphorus sensitive, so a good native fertiliser is best when it comes to feeding time.
