A superb dense and compact small shrub that is perfect for rockeries and smaller gardens, whether mass planted for dramatic effect, in small groups or in containers on the patio, veranda or deck. Easy care, with long lasting flowers, with a good strong colour. It begins producing the decorative buds from late spring, fully flowering from summer to early winter. Nectar rich flowers will attract birds and other wildlife.  Frost tolerant, suits mild acid to alkaline soils. A beaut plant for seaside gardens. Banksias are phosphorus sensitive, so a good native fertiliser is best when it comes to feeding time.
